The kids were sad to see Margo depart on Monday morning, but were glad to have had the opportunity to visit with her over the weekend. The kids were also excited that Mom had the special weekend she deserved. They know in their hearts they’re blessed to have a Mom that constantly, and unselfishly, puts them first. It was their simple way of saying “Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!”

Mother’s Day 2010
Mother’s Day weekend proved to be quite memorable for Mom this year. One of her best friends (Margo), or as Ella would say, Carrie, (Yeah, we're equally dumbfounded as to how she came up with that moniker), arrived in town to visit for the weekend. Margo (and hubby Matt) lived in Westfield, Indiana for several years before departing for the west coast (Sacramento, CA) back in 2005. Ella and Coltyn wanted to capitalize on the opportunity of her visit by making sure both Mom’s had an unforgettable weekend. On Saturday, they arranged for a limo to escort both Mom and Margo to an afternoon at Villagio spa. Upon completion of that, they toured the city and old stomping grounds while catching up on old times (all the while enjoying a glass of wine, or two, or three…). Later that evening, Ella and Coltyn decided to spend the night at Nana/Papaw’s house, allowing Mom, Dad, Margo, and friends to escape to dinner at Bonge’s. Nana and Papaw took the kids to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's Centennial Era Balloon Festival. Unfortunately, the winds were too great for the “hot air balloon glow”, but the concert still persisted, as well as the concluding fireworks show. The kids had a blast, as did Nana and Papaw.
