Many Reasons to be Thankful

Wth Thanksgiving right around the corner, the Price family has many reasons to be thankful. Instead of proclaiming the obvious (i.e. health, steady occupation, etc), below are a few of the more subtle reminders of why we’re thankful.

  • Ella’s 5am wake up calls - which consist of her exiting the comforts of her own bedroom for that of Mom and Dad’s with a soft spoken “Morning, Guys!”, before crawling into bed for a few more minutes of slumber.
  • Coltyn’s captivating laughter - which is a cross between a cough and a prehistoric pterodactyl scream. Yeah, you need to hear it to make the connection.
  • Ella's Princess Persona - Ella’s persistent need to ignore absolutely everything when arriving home from a long day at school so she can slip on any one of her Disney princess gowns. Much like food and water, Disney princess gowns are a need (not a want), per Ella.
  • Vu - who now finds it necessary to relieve herself (#2) in the middle of Coltyn’s bedroom each night. Not sure why this made the list, but we felt it was necessary to include Vu.
  • Ella’s nightly bedtime ritual – which generally begins at 8:15 pm and ends a bit later at 9:30 pm. Consists of several bedtime stories, many negotiations to have her return to her bed, a few tears, followed by complete silence, followed by Mom and Dad checking up on Ella only to find that she has removed her pajamas for a Disney Princess gown, followed by a few more tears, followed by inevitable sleep.
  • Coltyn’s nightly bedtime ritual – which generally begins at 7:30 pm and ends a bit later at 7:31 pm. Consists of Coltyn rolling over to his side, a brief yawn, a small toot, and then sleep.
  • Papaw P, and Uncle Buzz – for watching both Ella and Coltyn at the last minute so Mom and Dad could escape to the Colts vs. Patriots game with Uncle Toey and Aunt Andrea, and witness the next best thing to the Super Bowl.
  • Ella and Coltyn – for being the 2 greatest blessings Mom and Dad could have ever expected. There isn’t a moment that transpires where Mom and Dad aren’t truly amazed at what they have been given. Even amongst all the tears, meltdowns, poop, and snot…..
