For Halloween, Ella and Coltyn visited Nana again at the Indianapolis 500 trick or treating celebration. Both acquired bountiful amounts of candy and enjoyed visiting with Nana and all of her coworkers. Ella chose to dress as Snow White this year, and her transformation was not limited to just one day. It seems that Ella has permanently taken on the persona of Snow White. In fact, she prefers to be addressed as Snow White now, and rarely responds to Ella Mackenzie. Both Mom and Dad hope this behavior isn’t permanent, as her certain sense of entitlement that now accompanies her transformation has, at times, lost its “cuteness”.
Coltyn “chose” to re-use one of Ella’s old costumes, and dressed as a fuzzy bear, which didn’t bother him one bit. He just sat back and soaked the experience in as Mom and Dad chauffeured him from one house to the next in the comforts of his radio flyer wagon. Coltyn continues to explore new areas of the house, thanks to his advancing mobility. Mom and Dad now have only seconds to leave a room before returning to find him yanking Ella’s hair, splashing in Vu’s water dish, or heading to the garage with dad’s car keys in hand.
