Ella enjoyed this past weekend, and the time it allowed her to spend with Mom and Dad. On Saturday, Ella ventured to Great Grandma Gladys’ house to assist with decorating her home for Christmas. Ella, Mom, and Mimi assembled Gladys’ Christmas tree and arranged all the accompanying décor throughout the house. Ella enjoyed helping, and was surprisingly gentle with all the delicate Christmas items. Upon completion, Ella watched from a distance while Dad and Papaw B. tended to the pre-winter exterior tasks (i.e. stripping flower beds, spreading mulch, packing away seasonal items, etc). Fortunately, the rain was accompanied with warmer than expected temperatures, which Dad and Papaw appreciated.
Construction on Nursery #2 is scheduled to begin shortly. As much as Mom and Dad appreciate Ella’s willingness to help, they will instead request that Ella visit Nana for the weekend as they attempt to complete as much of the work as possible. Mom and Dad have wavered on various theme options. Ultimately, however, they have decided upon a light blue paint palette with chocolate-brown accent colors throughout the room. Mom decided against a striped pattern that would have been similar to Ella’s room, which Dad did not protest....
