Halloween is Indeed Everything it's Quacked Up to Be

Ella's 2nd Halloween experience started off on Friday with a visit to Nana’s place of employment, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The IMS hosted their annual trick-or-treat festivities for relatives of IMS employees. Ella donned a Duck costume, or as she would say, “Duck, Duck” costume. She enjoyed parading throughout the IMS and visiting w/ all of Nana's friends. It was apparent that Ella had been diligently studying the ritual of Halloween. She quickly, yet methodically, scanned the confines of IMS in search of orange pumpkins full of assorted candy. Ella wasted little time at each "station". As a result, she accumulated an amount of candy that easily exceeded her own weight. She opted against chocolate this year, and instead, chose dum-dums, suckers, and lollipops.

On Saturday, Mimi and Papaw B. stopped by with one of Mom's old rocking chairs. It’s now Ella’s favorite seat in the house to watch Blue’s Clues. Ella enjoyed their visit. Later that night, Ella attended a chili party at Uncle Toey/Aunt Andrea's house. She had a blast playing with Lucy Cappa, and all the other little kids. The highlight of the evening, however, was petting Uncle Toey’s mounted deer head hanging on the wall. Uncle Toey would shake the deer head and growl as each kid attempted to pet it. If only that deer could talk….

On Sunday, Ella invited Nana and Papaw over to watch the Colts game, since they had graciously provided their tickets to Mom and Dad. Ella could care less if the Colts win another game the rest of the season, she was glad they beat the evil, Patriots

"At one point this was full of candy. Where did it all go? Dad!!!!!!!!!!!!"
