On Saturday, Ella wanted to head north to Mimi and Papaw B's house to see Vu. To this point, Ella only knows of Vu via bed-time stories and dinner table chat. For those of you that know Vu, you understand why we might have decided to send her away immediately after Ella's birth. For those who have never met Vu, well, she's a dog with her own agenda. Very sweet appearance (all 7 pounds) but easily agitated and very much a "momma's dog". We felt a gradual transition of acquainting the two would work best. We were a little apprehensive about letting Vu get too close to Ella, but to our astonishment, Vu was very calm around her and even felt compelled to slip a gentle kiss on Ella's forehead. We were encouraged by this and feel that a future with Ella and Vu co-existing within the same home might be possible. We'll see.
Sunday wrapped up with some outdoor time with Mom and Dad. Ella went shopping at Clay Terrace and found a couple of bargain outfits to add to her wardrobe. She went on a couple of long walks and even got her fingers dirty with Dad as she helped him change the oil and sparkplugs in the lawnmowers.
All in all a great weekend. She is nervously counting down the time before she heads to "school". Ella starts daycare in 2 weeks. It's amazing how quick the last few months have gone. Like everyone says, the time really does go by quick.
The infamous Vu
Not even Elmo can keep me awake after a busy weekend.
