Coltyn's First T-Ball Game

This past weekend Coltyn participated in his first baseball game. His teammates, who collectively go by the team name of the “Indians”, were victorious in their first game (Note: Official scoring is not kept in ages 3-4 T-ball). Coltyn’s unofficial stats were 2 singles on 2 bat appearances. He batted in 2 runs (only because each kid is required to run from 3rd to home on each hit). Coltyn had a couple of nice plays in the field as well. The coach strategically placed him at first base and pitchers helper throughout the game. Unfortunately, there were no professional scouts at the game to get a head start on observing Coltyn’s abilities. Coltyn is sure the scouts will come when he advances to the 4-5 year old bracket. However, Coltyn’s best attribute was not hitting or fielding, but rather acknowledging his fans. Approximately every 2 minutes Coltyn would administer a “thumbs up” or a simple smile and wave to ensure his fans truly understood how proud he was of them being there. At times his waving and gesturing were a bit extreme, and did distract from his ability to stay engaged in the field of play, but it was evident he was having fun. And at this age, that’s truly all that matters.
