5 Years Later…

At 8:53 pm on January 15, 2007 you came roaring into the world. Your soft cry instantly changed everything for Mom and Dad. In that very moment their priorities and focus changed in an unimaginable way. You spent those first few nights in the nursery lying awake with your eyes wide open, when you should have been sleeping peacefully. On your first night at home you declined the option to sleep in a bassinet adjacent to Mom and Dad’s bed, and instead chose to go directly to the confines of your own room across the house. Five years later you continue to stay up late, and wake up early, as you just can’t resist the urge to absorb every moment of life. Your independence is evident, and your thirst for life is definite. You keep Mom and Dad on their toes, and for that, they are grateful.

You were truly a blessing on January 15, 2007, and it’s unbelievable how quickly the last 5 years have passed. On this day, you’re most interested in hosting a birthday party, celebrating with your friends, blowing out candles, and opening gifts. But for Mom and Dad, they are selfishly thankful for what you’ve given them, which is a beautiful daughter that has exceeded their expectations.

Happy 5th Birthday, Ella!
