This past week Ella, Mom, and Papaw returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the World Palomino Horse show. This was Sunshine’s second World show in Oklahoma, and she didn’t disappoint. She stood Grand Champion in the Open 3-Year old Mare class, and Denise took a Reserve World Champion in the Amateur equivalent. Ella helped bathe Sunshine each night, made sure she had plenty of food and water, and even made mosaic drawings to hang on the stall. While there was little down time, they did manage to spend some time cooling off in the hotel pool, which was almost a necessity with temperatures in Tulsa reaching well over 100 degrees. Plans are already being made to defend the crown next year.
While the girls were away in Oklahoma, Coltyn and Dad stayed at home to hold down fort. They kept busy by attending Colts Training Camp with Papaw, visiting the Children’s Museum, and celebrating Uncle Buzz’s birthday. It was fun hanging out with “just the boyz”, as Coltyn would say. In addition, the house managed to stay in one piece in the girl’s absence. No broken bones, vases, antiques, etc means they can be trusted again.
