Ella, the best Father's Day gift

To say the last 5 months (yes, Ella is now officially 5 months old) have flown by would be an understatement. We've witnessed, seemingly, significant milestones in her development. Ella now realizes certain self-initiated actions produce responses from Mom and Dad. This excites her, as much as we enjoy this newfound interaction. For example, Ella enjoys playing in ExerSaucers. In addition to being stimulated by the sights and sounds this play land offers, she loves rocking (sometimes slamming) her body back and forth, followed by a long pause as she waits for a reaction from Mom and Dad. She then starts giggling and repeats.

One of the gifts Ella gave Dad this Father's Day was an "Apple TV". For those of you unfamiliar with this device, essentially it's an electronic component that connects to your TV and allows you to stream your collection of music, photos, movies, etc from your computer directly into your living room. Possibly one of the best features of this device is the ability to view a slideshow of photos while your favorite songs play in the background. While viewing the photos of Ella's first five months, it allowed Dad to reflect upon what it meant to be a father. However, it doesn't take a Father's Day to truly realize the importance. Dad knew the instant Ella was born. It was in that moment when he heard her first cry, and when he was able to hold her for the first time, that he realized the magnitude. It's the realization of those emotions that make this Father's Day special.

Yee Haw! Thanks for the new digs, Nana!
